Hello Family & Friends,
We are so thrilled to announce that we are husband and wife! Yes, that’s right, we got married!
Here’s how it all went down…
After a very long conversation about our future wedding, which included deciding on a perfect date, location, amount of guests, what kind of alcohol to serve, and every single small detail you can think of (or not think of), we decided to elope!
We consider ourselves a couple who likes to keep things as simple as possible. Therefore, the decision to “run off” and get married was easy to make.
Of course we thought about all of you…what you would think or say, but we knew that you would be supportive and love us no matter what, so we went for it!
We chose Joshua Tree National Park as our destination because every time we visit the park we get such positive energy, and we are filled with so much peace and joy that, for us, it was the perfect location to marry. Plus, Martin loves the desert.
It wasn’t hard to choose a date because we knew that our five year anniversary was coming up. It’s been five years since we met, five years since we became a couple, and five years since we moved in together, oh and two years since he proposed…but that is a story for another post!
So, I called up my friend’s sister-in-law, who is an amazing photographer, to see if she was available to take photos of our elopement. I also called a videographer I found through an extensive research of elopement videography on Pinterest, as well as an officiant who is based out of the Palm Desert area.
Once we had those major vendors booked, I ordered a dress I really liked online, got myself a nice pair of heels in my favorite color, and Martin went to Macy’s to look for his pants. He had previously purchased his shirt at Express, but had yet to wear it.
Closer to our wedding date, I visited one of my favorite florists near Cal State Fullerton and asked the florist to make a custom desert-themed bouquet. Oh, and we also booked a fabulous Airbnb near the park that was luckily available for our wedding weekend.
A few weeks later we headed out to Joshua Tree and had the best day ever!
